Big Sean is one step closer to collaborating with his hometown idol. Eminem has reached out to his fellow Detroit rapper about logging some studio time. “Em reached out to me and was like, ‘Come to the studio. Come hang out when you get a chance,’” Sean told Tim Westwood during his trip to the U.K. “We gonna make that happen. That’s the legend right there.” While it’s unknown when they’ll link up, Sean is moving forward with his sophomore album Hall of Fame, due out at the end of February. He recently shot a video for the first single “Guap” in Detroit, shutting down Woodward Avenue for a parade. “It was a big homecoming for me. I never shot a video where the whole city came out,” he said. “We had girls dancing in feather suits. It was nuts, man.” |

Via GQ.com: It’s Friday afternoon in the suburbs of Detroit, and Marshall Mathers is sitting in an office at the back of his industrial-size recording studio, where he logs nine-to-five days every week like he’s a working stiff. He looks as low-key as he does onstage—no fashion logos or excessive jewelry, just a gray T-shirt, camo shorts, a military-style cap, and a necklace with a diamond pyramid. He precisely lines up a bottle of water and a sixteen-ounce can of Red Bull. |

Via Rap-Up.com: ver a decade in the making, Dr. Dre’s Detox looks like it’s finally going to see the light of day. But it was his confidant Eminem who gave him the much-needed push to finish the oft-delayed album. “My whole career, especially in the beginning but even still to this day, is always to try to get a reaction out of Dre,” Eminem told “Extra.” “[With 'I Need a Doctor'], the reaction I wanted, was to spark him even more than he’s been sparked lately, you know what I’m saying? Even push it further and just get him to finish the album.” |
